Asset Inventory & Storage System

Ongoing Since October 6, 2025 Operations

Implemented IT asset management (ITAM): a tagged inventory of 150+ items with labeled storage and a remote-equipment register.

Business impact

Brought 150+ assets under control with tagging and a central register, addressing loss risk, duplicate purchases and slow replacements across the office and remote staff.

Problem

Equipment was untracked and scattered across desks and homes, creating loss risk, duplicate purchases and slow replacements.

Solution

Created an asset-management system: numbered asset tags, label-maker labeling, a central register on the agency file server, labeled storage, and a register of agency-owned equipment held by remote staff.

Results & highlights

  • Tracks 150+ assets, including cords and cables
  • Standardized tagging with numbered asset codes and PT label-maker labels
  • Centralized the asset register on the agency file server
  • Captured serial, brand and model for agency equipment held by remote staff
  • Ran a return-to-pool reclamation drive to recover unused equipment (December 2025)
  • Reorganized storage with labeled bins and new cube shelving (August 2026)

Competencies demonstrated

  • IT asset management (ITAM): 150+ tracked assets, including cords and cables.
  • Inventory control: Numbered asset codes and label-maker labels.
  • Remote equipment tracking: Serial, brand and model recorded for agency equipment held by remote staff.
  • Cost recovery: Return-to-pool reclamation drive to recover unused equipment (December 2025).
  • Facilities organization: Labeled bins and new cube shelving (August 2026).

Architecture

  1. Tagnumbered asset code + label
  2. Registercentral spreadsheet
  3. Assignremote-equipment register
  4. Reclaimreturn-to-pool drives
